Stitching the valley - Part 4

We are pulled to create in dark times. When we don’t know what else to do with ourselves, when neither company nor solitude helps, we make. We direct our energy and emotions, as we have learned to do, into our creations.

It is not hiding. Every creative work holds up the turned-inside-out heart of its maker for all to see. It captures the time, it captures the energy, it speaks to us and for us, and collectively speaks of us all—

this is what our hearts looked like,

this is how we hurt.

On 15 March 2019, in Christchurch, New Zealand, a terrorist opened fire during Friday Prayer at the Al Noor Mosque, and the Linwood Islamic Centre . Fifty-one people lost their lives.
